Kourula and Huhtiniemi

(Distances: LUT 3-4 km, polytechnic 3-4 km, city central 2-3 km

The Kourula-Huhtiniemi area is halfway between city central and the university. A bus route goes through the district near all of our houses.

Huhtiniemi is the winter sports centre, which has well maintained, lighted and demanding cross-country skiing trails. There’s also a versatile sporting centre where you can play tennis, racket ball, badminton and floorball, exercise aerobic, spinning and go to gym. The beach is about one kilometre away from the student houses.

The services can be found from the Kourula district centre. You can find there two grocery stores, a drugstore, health services, a post office, a school and a day-care centre. The restaurant Husaari is located downstairs in the LOAS-Park building. The Sammonlahti district centre is about 2 kilometres from Kourula and Huhtiniemi.
