Distances: LUT 0-2 km, polytechnic 6-7 km, city central 5-6 km

Skinnarila is a university district and the LOAS -apartments are located both exactly at the university area, forming the traditional campus and elsewhere in Skinnarila within about two kilometre radius from the university. The bus services to the centre of Lappeenranta are very good from all the LOAS -sites.

In the university area you can find the house of the student union that provides many services and the technology centre Kareltek. The LOAS lakeside sauna Vierula is located right next to the student houses. Students’ unions’ office is in the ylioppilastalo and the LUT service company Aalef can be found in Kareltek.

Skinnarila is a district close to nature, which has very good outdoor recreation possibilities and lake Saimaa with beaches right under your window.

Services can be found from the Sammonlahti district centre about two kilometres from the university. From there you can find a health clinic, a grocery shop, a post office, a library, a church, schools, a day-care centre, an indoor athletic facility, kiosks and a few restaurants.
