APPLYING FOR AN APARTMENT

You can apply for a LOAS student flat by using the form on this page or a printed form available at the LOAS housing office. Applications can be sent all throughout the year. It may be possible to get a residential flat without having to wait at all.

The autumn and turn of the year are the busiest times. Applications should always be sent as early as possible. The application is valid for six months.

Please send your application as soon as you have been admitted to an educational institution.

We offer flats for foreign students primarily in addresses Teknologiapuistonkatu 4, Ruskonlahdenkatu 13-15, Kalliopellonkatu 10 and Karankokatu 4.

For exchange students we offer flats only in these addresses.

Our flats are leased to young people who are learning to live on their own and who study in Lappeenranta, Joutseno, Imatra, or elsewhere in South Karelia. Our residential selection features plenty of options for various stages in the student's life. The options include flats (2-3 rooms) you can share with others who like this kind of format, studio flats for those who need their own space, e.g. during the final phases of their studies, and two-room family residences.

Our housing is available for all students who participate in basic, advanced, or supplementary education. Education connects our residents. Family flats are available for couples, but at least one must be a student.

Applications for LOAS student flats can be sent at any time. You can apply for housing in accordance with your needs.

The right of residence is confirmed when the rental agreement is signed. You must present a valid student ID, study certificate or approval letter from the educational institution.

If the applicant is under 18, his/her parents must secure the agreement due to tenancy-related legal obligations.  This means in practice that the rental agreement is signed by one of the parents.

Send only one application via the Internet. After the application has been sent, you can make changes to it via email: asuntotoimisto@loas.fi. The notification of change must include the following:
- applicant's name and identity number (If you have Finnish Social Security Number use it. If not, use your Date of Birth (DDMMYY).
- updated application information.

You must always submit a change of address notification when you move into a new flat.

We advice you to use e-mail to contact us, if possible, especially during the rush hours of autumn and turn of the year, since we can not answer to all calls at those times.
